New York, NY –December 7, 2005 – Law & Order fanatics take note: the most recent series in Dick Wolf’s signature brand has a new home on Court TV®. The network will air a mini-marathon of three back-to-back episodes of Law & Order: Trial By Jury on Friday, December 9, from 8-11 PM ET/PT to kick off the series which includes a never-before-seen episode premiering on January 21. The courtroom drama will regularly in a two hour block on Saturdays from 8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT, starting December 10. The show, which stars Bebe Neuwirth as Assistant District Attorney Tracey Kibre and former United States Senator Fred Dalton Thompson as District Attorney Arthur Branch, tells its stories not only from the prosecution’s point of view, but includes the perspectives of the defense attorneys, defendants, judges and jurors.
“We are delighted to add the NBC dramatic series, Law & Order: Trial By Jury to Court TV’s primetime schedule,” said Court TV Chairman and CEO Henry Schleiff. “Since our network has become most known for its original documentaries, movies and other true stories, we are very selective in buying only the very best fictional series, as “evidenced” by our previous acquisitions of the Emmy Award-winning, Homicide and NYPD Blue. Given our viewers’ interest in dramatic stories of life in the courthouse, we believe this Law & Order series will work particularly well on Court TV.”
“I am so delighted that we have extended the Law & Order brand to Court TV,” said creator/executive producer Dick Wolf. “I know Court TV’s audience will particularly appreciate the legal and human aspects of the stories we tell.”
